Dana's Day: Delayed Destin Update

Due to Vacation Bible School, I am a little late posting about our trip to Destin. Thanks to Ryan's Uncle Tom and Aunt Pat, the entire Metz family (excluding a missed Granny, Jill, Demian, and Jonathan) had a wonderful time at the beach. Cole was more excited about the swimming pool than the beach. That might be due in part to Ryan letting him ride a wave to shore in a boat that flipped over or the four sharks we saw while we were there! Kate's schedule never worked fully to enjoy all of the beach time, so Ryan was kind enough (and didn't care enough about the sand and sun) to watc

h Cole and Kate while I enjoyed some reading, resting, and visiting with my main beach buddy, Julie. The girls also had a fabulous shopping trip to the outlet mall. For someone who was hesitating going shopping, I sure did my share of damage. Having a little girl and the Hartstrings outlet can be dangerous. We had a wonderful time and were sad to go, so we thought we would make the drive home fun....... BAD IDEA!!!! Now I know why we try to make record time when we go on trips! We decided to visit the USS Alabama in Mobile. Cole LOVES boats, airplanes, helicopters, and submarines. After paying almost $30, guess what we saw..... the top deck of the USS Alabama and nothing else..... He would not even look at the camera to take a picture. So much for trying to be fun parents!
