Christmas 2008

It is a month later, and I am finally posting..... We had a great Christmas! We spent a wonderful but busy two weeks in Baton Rouge. Cole and Kate were able to visit with all of their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins! Cole loved opening all of the presents and Kate loved getting into all of Cole's new toys! We spent Christmas Eve day with my family opening gifts, eating, and attending the Christmas Eve service at Zoar. Kate lasted about half of the service (with lots of goldfish) until Ryan wouldn't let her throw her sippy cup across the aisle! After the service we had dinner with Ryan's family and a visiting pastor from Africa. After seeing what Santa Clause brought Christmas morning, we went to the Metz house for present opening and Christmas lunch. After saying goodbye to Aunt Jill and Uncle D, we headed over to visit with both of my grandmothers that afternoon. While Ryan went back to work, the Cole, Kate, Mom, Dad, and I went to the lake the next week to relax (or freeze). The Lyman and Perkins families met us their to celebrate New Years Day! We finished off our two week holiday with Josh and Kayla's wedding (my next post)! My Little Lady showing her bloomers!

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let it Snow!

This is the first time that Cole and Kate have seen snow. Cole really wasn't that impressed and Kate wouldn't walk in it (I guess it looked too much like the sand that she hated!) . I think he was more excited about not going to school. I woke him up at 6:00 to see it. I could not get him outside until 9:00. I don't think that he understood that it wasn't going to stay :)

Finally making it outside!

I don't think so!

The snow was already melting at 9:00!

He would not take off his gloves to touch it!

Here comes trouble!

This is why she can never be left alone!

Free Concerts!

This is what most of our evenings look like (until they start fighting over the instruments!).

Thankful...........

We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Our family tops the list of what we are thankful for. We had a great time visiting with Ryan's family in Texas for Thanksgiving this year. We missed Jill and D, but are glad that we will see them at Christmas. We had a wonderful time visiting, eating, shopping, and playing. Cole and Kate love playing with their cousins, and mommy and daddy enjoyed the free babysitting. I wish they lived closer :)

Caught up!

I just needed to post this, since it probably will not happen again for a long time!!! And yes, all seven posts were done today! See you in a month!
We just got home from our wonderful trip to Houston, Texas to celebrate the marriage of my cousin, David, to his beautiful bride, Cathryn. Ryan met me in Houston on Saturday since Cole had been sick. We had a very busy weekend with the Rehearsal Dinner on Friday evening, a brunch for family and David's groomsmen on Saturday afternoon, the wedding and reception on Saturday evening (and early Sunday morning :), and a brunch for out of town guests on Sunday afternoon. We had a great time!

Fall at the Lake

We went to the lake the first weekend in November. It was absolutely beautiful....as always. If there was a Walmart closer (or jobs), I would live there. It is my most favorite place to be. Sunsets......I have never seen a prettier sunset than over Lake Bruin.
Cousins sharing a bath.

The "Moose" - he is only 10 weeks older and 10 pounds heavier than Kate.

He really does love her.
Trying to get a good Christmas card for NeNe.
